How to Fix Single Sign-On SAML Authentication Errors
If you receive a SAML authentication error when trying to access the portal, this typically happens when your session has been idle too long or your credentials need to be refreshed.
What the Error Looks Like
You may see messages like:
- "SAML Authentication Failed"
- "Session Expired"
- "Authentication Error"
How to Fix It
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
- Sign out of the portal completely
- Close your browser window
- Open a new browser window
- Navigate to the portal login page
- Enter your credentials and sign in again
Your access should now work normally.
Why This Happens
SSO sessions expire after a period of inactivity for security reasons. When your session expires, you need to re-authenticate by signing out and back in.
